Free RRB NTPC mock test papers
RRB NTPC CBT 1 Mock Test 1 (Undergraduate)
Pitched at the 12th pass posts of CEN 07/2026. 30 reasoning, 40 general awareness and 30 maths questions, with a solution under every one.
RRB NTPC CBT 1 Mock Test 2 (Graduate)
A harder paper for the graduate posts of CEN 06/2026, with 100 new questions and none repeated from Mock 1. More algebra, trigonometry, coding and syllogisms.
RRB NTPC CBT 1 Mock Test 3 (Undergraduate)
A second paper for the 12th pass posts, with 100 new questions and none repeated from Mock 1 or 2. Same 30, 40 and 30 split, a solution under every question.
RRB NTPC Reasoning Sectional Test 1
Only the reasoning section: 30 new questions in 27 minutes, the same time per question as the full paper. Series, coding, relations, syllogisms, puzzles and data sufficiency.
RRB NTPC General Awareness Sectional Test 1
Only general awareness: 30 new questions in 27 minutes. History, polity, geography, science, computers, sports, culture and organisations, all static facts with a short explanation under each.
RRB NTPC CBT 1 pattern and marking
From the CEN for the 2026 cycle (para 13.1). The section split is described there as indicative, so a real paper can vary by a question or two.
| Subject | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| General Awareness | 40 | 40 |
| Mathematics | 30 | 30 |
| General Intelligence and Reasoning | 30 | 30 |
| Total, 90 minutes | 100 | 100 |
CBT 1 only screens. Its normalised score decides who is called to CBT 2, at 15 times the vacancies of each RRB and community. For 3,548 graduate posts that is about 53,220 candidates, and for 1,688 undergraduate posts about 25,320, by our arithmetic. The final merit comes from CBT 2.
Should you guess in RRB NTPC?
Not blindly. This is where NTPC differs from SSC GD. A wrong answer costs one third of a mark, and with four options a pure guess wins nothing on average.
| Options left after you rule some out | Average gain per guess |
|---|---|
| 4 (pure guess) | 0 marks |
| 3 | +0.11 marks |
| 2 | +0.33 marks |
A pure guess is right one time in four: ¼ × 1 − ¾ × ⅓ = 0. Once you can strike out even one option, guessing starts to pay. With 100 questions in 90 minutes you have 54 seconds a question, so skip the ones you cannot narrow down and come back if time is left.
What each section asks
| Section | Topics in the CEN |
|---|---|
| Mathematics | Number system, LCM and HCF, ratio, percentage, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, time and work, time and distance, mensuration, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics. |
| Reasoning | Analogies, series, coding, mathematical operations, relationships, syllogism, Venn diagrams, puzzles, data sufficiency, statement and conclusion, decision making, maps and graphs. |
| General Awareness | Polity, history and the freedom struggle, geography, science up to class 10, computers, economy, art and culture, sports, flagship schemes and current events. |
The mocks keep general awareness to settled facts, such as Articles, dates, places and science. Current events change every month, so revise those from a recent monthly source alongside this paper.
Frequently asked questions
Is this RRB NTPC mock test free?
Yes. Every paper opens online without signing up or paying. An account is optional and only keeps your past scores.
How many questions are in RRB NTPC CBT 1?
100 questions in 90 minutes: 40 general awareness, 30 mathematics and 30 reasoning, one mark each. Candidates allowed a scribe get 120 minutes. This is the same for the graduate and the undergraduate CEN.
What is the negative marking in RRB NTPC?
One third of a mark is deducted for each wrong answer, in CBT 1 and CBT 2. An unanswered question costs nothing. The mock scores your attempt the same way.
Which mock should I take for the undergraduate posts?
Mock 1 and Mock 3 are pitched at the 12th pass posts of CEN 07/2026, such as Commercial cum Ticket Clerk. Mock 2 is a step harder, closer to the graduate posts of CEN 06/2026. The CBT 1 pattern is the same, so take all three.
Are there sectional tests for RRB NTPC?
Yes, two. The reasoning sectional and the general awareness sectional each have 30 new questions in 27 minutes, the same 54 seconds a question as the full CBT 1, with the same one third negative marking. The general awareness test sticks to static topics from the CEN 07/2026 list, such as history, polity, geography, science, sports and culture, and none of its questions repeat the full papers.
What are the qualifying marks in RRB NTPC CBT 1?
40% for UR and EWS, 30% for OBC (non creamy layer) and SC, and 25% for ST, as per the CEN. On a 100 mark paper that is 40, 30 and 25 marks after the negative marking.
