How the 2019 DASS Grade II paper is laid out

The section headers inside DSSSB's PDFs show the order candidates saw. Each subject is split into two groups of 20 marks. In the second English group and the second Hindi group, ten of the questions sit under two reading passages of five questions each.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I download the DSSSB ASO previous year paper PDF?

DSSSB hosts the 16 July 2019 DASS Grade II papers on dsssb.delhi.gov.in as answer-key PDFs: Shift 1 (184 pages), Shift 2 (182 pages) and Shift 3 (142 pages). The direct links are in the Important links table on this page; all three opened on 16.09.2026.

Why is Shift 3 not available as an online test?

The official Shift 3 file ends after question 150. The two English reading passages (questions 151 to 160) and the whole General Hindi section (161 to 200) are not in it, so a complete 200-question test cannot be built from that file.

Why does the official PDF show every question twice?

The file is the master key for both English-medium and Hindi-medium candidates, so each question is printed once for each medium. That is why a 200-question paper runs to more than 180 pages.

The option number in the PDF does not match my response sheet. Why?

Question and option shuffling were switched on for this exam; the PDF header for every question reads "Option Shuffling: Yes". The green tick marks the correct option text, so match your answer by its text, not by its number.

Is DASS Grade II the same post as DSSSB ASO?

Yes. DSSSB now advertises the post as Assistant Section Officer (post code 804/26 in Advertisement 01/2026). It is the same Pay Level 7 post, and the Tier 1 exam still has the same five subjects of 40 marks each.

What was the marking scheme in the 2019 paper?

Each paper had 200 questions of 1 mark, a deduction of 0.25 for every wrong answer, and 120 minutes. The online tests on this site use the same 1 and 0.25 marking.
